Xtreme Motorsports
Inflated Un-Acceptable Service Bill, BlackMail & Fraud, Poor Service!

Cars & Transport

I dropped off my 2004 GSXR 1000 at Xtreme Motorsports in early June to have the engine & drive train installed back into the motorcycle. A previous shop had un-installed the engine for repairs then went out of business. Keith, in the Service Department at Xtreme Motorsports quoted me $200 to install the engine back into the motorcycle over the phone. He said the normal labor rate was $400 to remove & replace an engine, so half price to install only. I agreed to this pricing and had my motorcycle towed to the shop. Upon arrival, Keith said it should not be a problem and the original quote stuck even after seeing the motorcycle and components. The communication with the service department was absolutely horrible, with no calls made to me for any updates or information. Anytime I needed an update or information on the status of my motorcycle job, I had to call, or I would never hear a thing. Keith was supposed to inventory all the components and parts I dropped off with the motorcycle that day to make sure I was not missing anything, but I never heard from him. Around a week later, I called him for an update and he then stated I was missing my engine oil cooler & chain. I explained I would provide these missing parts and then dropped the parts off three days later at their shop. They explained I was also going to need fluids and a few small brackets, which was fine and acceptable. They provided the fluids and small misc nuts/bolts, and I provided the oil cooler kit & chain. Around a month went by and I still did not receive a call from Keith or anyone at Xtreme. On July 21st, I called Keith and asked for an update. He explained the bike was completed but he still had to finish up the paperwork and would call me back. I received a call back from him a day later stating the total bill was $1025! I was outraged and appalled at this. I was quoted $200 for labor, plus parts. Keith said it took them longer so there was additional labor cost. Unfortunately, that is not acceptable, increased pricing was never agreed upon by myself! I was quoted $200 plus parts and I agreed to this, not $1025. Keith said that was the bill, and I could not pick up the motorcycle unless I paid that amount. My only option was to pay the outrageously fraudulent price of $1025. I was deceived, defrauded, & blackmailed; I was quoted $200 labor plus parts and charged over $900 labor plus parts. The bill was paid on 7/28 via cashier's check; to receive the motorcycle back.
