I purchased a gap/total loss policy from this company on 3/18/05. I paid 499 total for both policies. According to what i was told the gap would cover any defecit, in case of an accident to my vehicle not covered by insurance. The total loss was to pay me up to 5,000 if the vehicle was stolen or declared totaled by the insurnace company toward the purchase of a vehicle. Well my suv was stolen 1/5/08 and was never recovered by law enforcement.By the end of that month my ins co had totaled out the vehicle and had processed all paperwork for the claim.

I filed my claim with the claims processor for the gap/total loss polices which is dms services. I filed for both the gap and the total loss at the same time since they are actually two seperate policies. I was informed at the time that my payment for the total loss policy had never been submitted to them and therefore my policy was never activated. Needless to say they also didn't pay anything towards the gap coverage either. I was livid!!!

I asked that they send this information to me in writing, which they did. She verbally made me aware that certified had stopped writing policies for their comapny and to get in tuch with them. Which i did. Dadid hurt told me, oh no they were no the company where my claims were paid through, even though the written contracts i had in my hand was for dms services. He informed my that i was to contact bob. And now the circus begins.

I played ring around the roses with bob for months, submitted everything imaginable that i thought he needed to make sure that my claim was processed with no hitches or delays. Especially since i had pu up $2500 of my own money up towards the purchase of a new vehicle. Which the total loss was suppossed to cover. Everything from the police report to the new bill of sale for my new vehicle, but to no avail. I would just get told that yes i have everything and i'm waiting for an answer. I sent letters, faxes, and made numerous phone calls. Until my calls were no answered. So then i called the ins agent david hurt, with not much help, as he couldn't get any answers from bob himself. And this is a guy he works with on a regular basis.

So i sent a letter requesting the name and address of policy underwriting co, i have never received a reply. I was never offered a refund, and i never received an insurance payment for my total loss claim. I have been dealing with this since 2/4/08. I am now in the process of restarting this claim, along with a complaint to the attorney generals office and the insurance commissioner of florida. The only good thing is it helps to have a public official for a fiance now. So we'll see how long it takes for me to get what's is legally owed to me, which is all i really want, not to cause trouble. But i think this charad has gone on long enough.
