Mike Shad Nissan
Failed to do promised repairs on vehicle purchased

Cars & Transport

Salesperson, Jason Ishmali, was very helpful and accommodating. I had purchased a vehicle from him 3 months earlier but it was not exactly what I wanted.

Jason worked with me to get the vehicle I wanted, a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS. But it needed several things fix, it needed tires, had a definite pull (possibly alignment or tire related) to the left, and several bad spots that needed to be sanded and repainted on the hood and passenger side front door.

I was assured that these items would be fixed. The tires and alignment were done prior to my taking delivery of the vehicle. I brought the SUV back the next week for the paint work. I knew, from having a local body shop look at the SUV, that it needed to be sanded down to metal, properly primed and repainted. It would require blending in as the vehicle is a metallic maroon paint.

When I picked the vehicle up it had only be painted over, the spots where the paint was uneven were clearly visible. I asked to speak to the Repair Manager and he assured me he'd look into it. The paint guy had already gone home for the day and the manager wasn't sure what had been done.

From there, I received the run around for over 3 weeks. First from the repair department, then from the sales manager, then the dealership manager. It was ridiculous. They insisted the salesman, Jason, did not have the authority to request those repairs. I insisted that is not my problem, I was going on what I had been told. A repair order was completed and submitted with the paperwork at the closing of all documents. They said it was repaired properly, it was not. It will eventually rust and have to be totally repainted and fixed at a cost of around $800.00. I never did receive a call back or response, they just stopped responding. I was promised a specific repair and it never happened. Several months later, I also discovered that the vehicle had bad ball joints, they were severely loose and that was the cause of the loose steering and pull. They insisted they would never sell a damaged vehicle or one needed repairs, they lied!

Do not go to Mike Shad! They are a member of the AutoNation dealers and all they care about are sales and not the service their customers receive. They will not do the right thing. I am happy overall with the vehicle I got, but every time I see those spots on the side of the Montero Sport, I regret doing business with them.
