Three strikes and I'm not saving 15% or more

I am a 33 yr. Old female, no accidents in 13 years, an occasional speeding ticket once every 3 or 4 years, and I am paying $1052 every six months. After reading your letters, now I know why.

Strike 1: I work in the construction industry as a carpenter.

Strike 2: I let my insurance lapse for 1.5 years because I didn't have my own car to drive since it had died on me. I was driving my parents vehicle covered by their insurance.

Strike 3: I filed credit card bankruptcy 2.5 years ago.

I just bought a new car in Aug. 2002 (a bank approved loan at 8.9% with a co-signer) and recieved my new insurance quote, up 544.00 from the liability insurance I was carrying on a 94 olds.

Newer, safer, more reliable... I foolishly thought my insurance wouldn't go up quite so much. When I read the letter they sent me asking for an extra 181.00 for 2 months of coverage, the way it was written I was under the impression my insurance was only going up to 544.00 for 6 months, boy was I ever wrong.

I have already gotten quotes from other internet accessible insurance companies and they are more than 50% less than Geico. I will be changing companies. The sad thing is, after reading all these articles... I feel so discriminated against.
