In December I was rear-ended at a high speed while waiting to make a left turn. I was driving my son's four month old vehicle which was totalled. The person that hit me only had $15,000 in property insurace, however his insurance company told me the vehicle was valued at $28,000. My son actually paid $30,000. The insurance agent suggested we go through my son's insurance (GEICO). GEICO is now stating the value of the car is $24,000 and they do not have to pay the MSRP since it had more then 3000 miles on it. Somehow this does not seem fair, even the other insurance company valued the car at $28,000. Is there some way I can file a claim on my insurance policy which is also (GEICO) to cover the difference?
