Folsom Lake Kia
Ripped off for Repairs. Repairs never done. Ripoff

Cars & Transport

In February I took my Kia Sportage to the dealership to have it repaired under my extended warranty as it would only go 40 MPH on the freeway. I had a $100 deductable for the service. I took it in on my day off since they are only open 8-5 weekdays. I took it in at 8 A.M. And called at 4 P.M. And they told me they were just starting it and they close at 5! This was on a Thursday. The next day I had to take the day off work as I had no car, a loss of $145. They called me at 4 on Friday and I picked the car up and TRIED to drive home. Nothing had been done. They also charged me $200 as they said I had to pay $100 for them to evaluated what was wrong and $100 deductible for my plan. I also asked them to repair the PASSENGER side door as air was rushing in and it was very noisy. They said they had to order the part and it would be $85 and I agreed.
I called the dealership and they said to bring the car in on Monday. That meant I would have to rent a car to get to work. The warrany covered 2 days for that job, replacement of the catalytic converter, so I had to have a car for Saturday, Sunday and Monday which meant I would have to pay for an extra day. They told me the part had come in for the window so they would repair that as well if I wanted. I said OK.

I brought the car in on Monday, had a friend follow me and theN I took him home so I only missed about $50 of pay for that day. They called me at 4:30 and told me they needed the car for another day to order the other part, apparently Kias have 2 converters? Anyway, I had to take the next day off work to be available to pick up the car when ready and take the rental back (5 days). There went another $145, but I work until 9 pm so had to take the time off.

The car ran fine HOWEVER, the window was never repaired. I complained and the manager told me I'd have to leave it for a day. I explained that I could not unless they gave me a loaner, rented me a car or reimbursed me for lost wages. He would not give me a loaner and there was no way I could bring the car in. I contacted the FTC and they spoke with him. He told them he wanted to speak with me and the gentleman at FTC explained that I did not want to deal with them, that was why I had contacted them. Kia said they would refund me a check for $115. I have never received the check to this date and it has been 6 months since dealing with the FTC.

DO NOT take your car for any repairs to this place. They are incompetant, rude and insincere. They have no idea how to repair a vehicle and do not do half the repairs you pay them for!
