Cars & Transport

On October 20, I purchased a Lamborghini car door conversion kit for my car. When I placed the order, I requested some information about locations where I could have the kit installed. I was told that when the kit arrives, to call back and that information would be provided for me.

I tried calling for 3 days after the kit arrived, but all I got was a voice recording. I left several messages, but none of my calls were returned. I then sent an email requesting the same information. It took 3 days before the email was answered. The email requested that I send a fax detailing the make and model of my car as well as other information to their order dept. The information would then be returned to me. I did not have access to a fax machine, so I returned their email explaining this.

Two days later, I received the same email that was previously sent. This barrage of emails went back and forth for several weeks without me receiving any information at all.

After about a month, I took it upon myself to locate several local companies that did Lambo car door installation. I took the kit that I received from Cardoorconversion.com to 3 different places, and they all told me that the kit was not the right kit for my car, so on November 3, I returned it. I insured it and sent it return receipt requested, so that it had to be signed for when it arrived.

On November 6, Mr. Melendez, the owner of the company signed for it personally. The next day, I sent an email notifying the company that I had returned the kit. The following day, I received an email saying that I should not have returned the kit, and that I had violated the company return policy. I read the return policy, and it specifically said that if the kit was not the right kit for my car, to return it, and that is what I did. It became apparent that this company had no intentions in assisting me with this problem.

On December 4, I sent a certified letter to Mr. Rafael Melendez explaining my position at this point, and it came back as undeliverable. On January 18, I sent another certified letter, but I have not received a response from Melendez to this date. This car door conversion kit cost me $1569.00. I have repeatedly made calls, sent emails, and certified letters, and I have not heard anything from Mr. Rafael Melendez or his company. I have the receipts from the USPS, as well as my bank statement proving that the funds were withdrawn from my account.

I simply want my money back, and the purpose of this letter is to start the process in the recovery of it.
