Ripoff Dishonest billing unprofessional attitude

Stingray Automotive is an unprofessional and small business run by a husband and wife team. My car was fixed by them... (had two belts replaced and some coolant added) and when I called to check on the repairs was told I needed a plethora of things fixed on my car—a new radiator, a new air filter, brake job, oil change and oil filter replacement. The woman told me the total would be close to $700, but they didn't take credit cards at the time (flag number 1) when I questioned it she said they were "in between" credit card companies. This sounded kind-of fishy to me so I told them to just fix the belts so that I could take it somewhere else. This was about $190.00 including the towing.

At this time the owner, Lisa told me that she had talked to her husband and that I could use my credit card for the transaction. When I went to pick up the car and tried to pay with my credit card she said "no, cash only... I was only going to approve the credit card for the other amount ($700)" I said that was unacceptable and that I wanted to pay with my credit card. She said no, their machines were down and then proceeded to get her husband, the mechanic from the shop. He came in very abruptly and said. "The only way you're getting your car is a cash payment... I shouldn't have fixed it anyway in the shape you brought it in... It's not my fault you don't have any cash to pay your bill..." Basically accusing me of neglect to the car, unruliness, and being broke.

I stated that they should take off the amount of interest the bank would charge me for geting a cash advance and again he said "It's not my problem that you're broke" Now, I am not broke... I just don't own a checkbook. I couldn't even use a debit card there and would have to leave, go get cash and come back—a slight inconvenience. That is exactly what I did. And you know, it's not even that big of a deal, it's just a matter of keeping your word and being professional... If you want good customer service, don't go here... I'm not even sure all the work they say I needed to get done is accurate. I just had my inspection and oil change down less than a month ago and they said "everything looks good" I will take it to the dealer next time. I wonder if a man would've been treated the same way
