I noticed a deduction of 21.95 from my account and I immediately made an inquiry to my bank regarding this matter.
I was given the name aka cpm plus and phone number of the alledged company 1-888-683-4432.
I was told by a customer service rep. I had signed up for a 7 day free trail membership for roadside service; when I applied for a payday loan.
If I no longer wanted the membership I was to call within the 7 day, so I would not have to pay the $21.95.
This was clearly a lie I had never heard of them and I had AAA. When I asked how they obtained my information she kept referring to a payday loan application.
She indicated that the clause was in the loan appl., and I must have overlooked it.
I had no ideal this had happened I did not sign up for anything; and the last time I tried to apply for a payday loan was in December.
This situation occured once in March and again in October. Both times I called this company and told them to cancel this membership right away and I wanted my money back.
The rep told me the money was non-refundable; I asked to speak to a supervisor and she informed me that she was the only one there.
I asked for an address and she only kept saying, "the membership was cancelled" and gave me a confirmation number.
Each time this has occured I contacted my bank and warned them not to let those transactions go through.
Of course, they agreed but the request would only last for 6 months; so ultimately I had to cancel my account.
It is extremely important to read the fine print and know who you are dealing with when online.
I want to learn more about what I can do; this is not right to take advantage of unsuspecting individuals.
This makes it very hard to trust the good guys!!!
