Discount Tire Co humiliation consumer fraud ripoff Irving

In the summer of 2000 i went to get new tires on my car. I should add i am female and have an older model car, a '93 cavalier. Nothing fancy but paid for. When i walked in the place, i was the only woman in there. They left me sit for about 15 minutes until i walked up to the counter and asked for help. The salesman looked at me and said "one moment". He continued to chat with the other customers (the one man had a fancy cadillac and the other had a jeep cherokee), needless to say they were buying expensive tires.

Finally he got around to waiting on me and presumed to tell me what the cheapest tires in the store were, as if i had no money. I assured him i was well able to take care of a higher priced tire so he gave me the next cheapest! How rude and snooty he was! He talked me into buying a useless "road warranty" that they never to this day have given me the card for so it was no good (it needed a manager's signature and they convieniently didn't sign it).

When it was my turn to have the tires put on, they told me to drive my car into bay one" and then walked away. I had stood there watching them drive cars for men into these bays, and although i'm no bloomin' idiot, this was the first time to buy tires here. I had NO idea what to do so i got in my car and drove around there. The tire guy told me to drive up on in there and stated that he "didn't have all day".

After a little while, the guy told me that my car was ready and actually THREW me my keys from inside my car. Just tossed them at me. I felt totally humiliated and drove away in tears. One thing they didn't know: i was extremely ill at that time and had a large tumor removed not long after. Maybe they'd better treat people better??? (my husband was not too happy either and vowed never to return there as he had always used them).

He spoke to the manager who really didn't give a hoot whatsoever. Being in the retail business, i have heard MANY complaints about this group. Beware.
