Refused to take resposibilty for severe damage to my ca

I recently parked in front of advanced auto parts as I do regularly, went in, spent my money and as I pulled out the parking block ripped the whole front bumper and spoiler off of my new car. The assistant manager witnessed this and came over to try and put it back. It had totally snapped all the connecters so he could not do so. I took lots of pictures of it then drove home, very slowly as it was dragging, and called the corporate office.

The block itself was 7 inches high with a 1 inch peice of re-bar sticking out the top (making it just over 8 and a half inches high) They referred me to their insurance company who I did not hear from for 2 weeks. Meanwhile I couldnt get to work or drive the car on the highway. Eventually the insurance company passed the buck and handed it to the company that installed said block. Another 2 weeks later thay asked me to get a qoute on the car which I did and submitted it for $935.

A week later they called me and said they were only willing to pay $650 because advanced should have TOLD THEM that the block was to high. Dont they know how high it was, they installed it. I asked the insurance agent from advanced "If I was in Publix and a can of yams fell on my head and knocked me out, who is responsible?". And she said the company that produced the can. I had to accept the $650 and pay the other $300 myself PLUS miss 3 weeks of work. I, and my family, were all regulars at this store and for the sake of $300 they are willing to lose all of our custom for the rest of our lives. Good customer service? I think not. Good corporate image, ask yourselves before you visit these stores again.
