Ripoff

In late March I rented a car from Payless Car Rental near the airport in Kansas City. I don't rent cars often and was told by the renting agent that I should get the gas coverage so that whatever gas (not necessarily the whole tank) was needed to fill the car up would be charged at a significantly "lower rate" than the prevailing gas prices in the area. I foolishly agreed to this, not knowing what a total ripoff this was going to be. When I returned the car full of gas (because the area gas prices were even lower than the supposedly "lower rate" I was quoted), I was denied a refund of that charge, which was about $30.00. I called the manager and was denied a refund, and I called a company representative and was also denied the refund. Needless to say, I will never, ever have any further dealings with the Payless Car Rental corporation. I also filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office.
