Payless Car Rental in Atlanta engages in bait and switch tactics Ripoff

I visited Atlanta March 23 to March 27. I went on expedia.com and reserved a car to rent. I requested an economy car and Payless Car Rental was the cheapest listed at $24 a day. So, I reserved it.

When I arrived in Atlanta, they told me that the economy car was sold out. Although there were other cars on their lot, they claimed that all they had available was an Astro van, a truck and an Infiniti. All were priced significantly higher than the price I was quoted. Unfortunately, this rental car place is located several miles off site from the airport, so there was no way I could even shop around. I even saw a car on the lot that I liked a, Nissan Altima, but for some reason, they "could not find the keys" for this particular car.

I ended up renting the Infiniti, even though it was $85 a day, more than 3 times the price I was quoted. I don't appreciate companies that engage in "bait and switch" tactics as this company obviously does.

I sent a dispute to my credit card company and they said there was nothing they could do about it.

I sent something to the BBB and they sent me a letter back from Payless saying they are no longer pursuing this matter with me and then closed my file as "satisfied". Satisfied? I don't think so!
