Dishonest, very rude, unhelpful, hurt our credit, failed to return calls, lying deceptive company

We bought a SUV from a local Ford company. We were financed thru Chase Automotive. A year after owning the SUV, and making all payments on time, the SUV was totaled in an accident.

Since the SUV was still new, the insurance company paid what they were suppose to and we had bought the GAP insurance to help and they covered the rest. But when the GAP insurance sent thier check to Chase, Chase claimed the check was sent to the wrong location and lost.
So then we had to contact the GAP insurance and have them cancel the check they had already sent and send out a new one. This process took enough time that they deceided to file the account as charged off.

During this time a recoveries specialist name John Stevens from Chase had contacted us and had told us that we had to pay the diffence "TODAY" or they would put on our credit report that the loan was a charge off.
So we gave them our checking account number over the phone like he asked and paid what GAP and the other insurance did not pay which made it paid in full.
A few months back we checked our credit report and guess what.

It is on our account as CHARGED OFF! So we contacted Chase and was transferred to someone to help us. The lady Chase sent us to said that John Stevens no longer worked for Chase but she would take this case before the board and see what she could do and then call us back in a couple days.

Two weeks later we had still not heard from her or Chase so we called them. We kept getting this ladies voice mail so I finally talked to someone else and they proceded to act like this John Stevens, who was contacted at the same phone number, never existed!

So I asked to talk to her supervisor. So she put Carlo O'Brian on the phone. So we talked to her and she kept acting like John Stevens never existed also and refused to correct the credit report. Even tho the account is paid in full.

Carlo kept acting like we were making up the conversation we had with John. But the thing is he is NOT made up because we have letters from him. Just not one saying what he said when he got our payment.

It is convienent that they would not want to correct a credit report since bad credit for consumers means higher interest for them.

So now we are going to have to write a letter to the head of Chase and see what they will do. But if it is anything like we have dealt with so far they will probally do nothing or lie about what they will do as they have been doing in the past. Heck why should they worry about it, it's not their credit.

I would highly recommend NOT doing business with this company!!! They are nothing but liars!!
