Ripoff and Lying! Incompetency is no excuse Ripoff

We called Tuffy's Automotive for a clutch change/install. They agreed via phone that 575.00 would be the price for installment and clutch. We were to drop it off on a Saturday morning and it would be ready Sunday so we could drive it for work on Monday. Saturday evening, a Mark called and said it would not be ready. Said there was a problem with a press pad. Ok, no prob, he said it would be done on Monday.

We also asked at this time for tire rotation and balancing for preventive maintenance. Monday came and went, same manager calls, now there is a problem with the clutch that was installed, be ready Tuesday. Tuesday night comes, still a problem but we wait and they "tighten" it and said all is done. We start to pay the bill and see it is 100.00 more than the quote! After pointing that out, it was lowered to the quote... Hhmmm... We drive it away and on Interstate 4 coming home, the front of the vehicle starts vibrating violently. Called, manager Mark says "oh a weight must've fallen off, bring it in tomorrow for a 20 min fixup.
I go in on my lunch hour for the 20 minute fix. Now I am dealing with another manager named Mario. He comes to me 45 min later and said "your tire is separating"... And shows me.instantly I noticed 5—five! &weights on the tire instead of the obligatory 1 or 2. I told him we are high maintenance people and there was not a single tire issue when we brought it in on Saturday, now on Wed, you are telling me it is separating? I told him to take off the weights and replace all to the original way it was brought in... Remarkably on the way home, the ride was smooth.

My tire expert told me that a separating tire would be felt soon and not just when a tire was rotated.

Hmmmm, Mario tried to pressure me into upselling to a new tire, but it did not work...

Anyone who goes to ANY Tuffy's after reading this report is a Fool.

I will continue to let all know the shenanigans of these con artists.

I will update this further as we go onward. I am not letting this go this time since I have the backing of several people in the business that this was shady. I even tried to write to Tuffy's from their website, but it was conveniently not working in the contact us section: tuffys.com
