Harrassment Ripoff

I had a few financial setbacks surounding a multi-dwelling home, therefore more than several of my payments were made late. Past the due date by 1 - 2 days, I began receiving "automated" phone calls.

I requested that this harressment tactic be stopped and I was advised that this could not be done until I "made arrangements" with the company to make a payment.

Due to the recent NPPI (Non-public private information) standards, these requests should not be made if the company contacts the client, only via versa.

I wish there were some legal action (class action) suit that could force companies (non-collection) after making 1st contact via phone not to contact the individual again if asked. It's annoying and if I did not have the payment yesterday, I won't have it tomorrow. Especially if I inform you of that.

I am in the process of paying off my loan, and advised the representative of same, he asked if I wanted to "schedule the payment." I asked him if he or the company were idiots because my balance was over 16K. Now I should call in an Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) over the phone when the company called me, and I don't know who is on the other end?

These practices should be looked into by the FTC and we "the comsumer" should not suffer at the hand of these companies who think they can abuse our rights.

If there is an attorney available, I will start this head-hunting expedition... No matter how long it takes. I'm pretty sure that the CEO, CIO, or COO of the company would not permit such to happen to their spouse if their payments were delayed.
