Ruined my credit with deceptive promises souix falls

3 years ago I knew trouble was coming and soon I would not be able to make my mortgage obligations. I called citimortgage and gave them the heads up and asked what could be done to assist me. I was told I would not qualify for assistance unless I was at least 2 months behind. I continued to make my payments as long as I could and then inquired about assistance once I began to fall behind. I was referred to credibility and sent out a packet to start the modification procedure. Long story short, I was denied, but I was qualified for another program, again filled out the same packet, and again was

Denied. I Was told it was not returned in time, so I did it a third time that same day and was again denied. I Tried once more for another program they said had just come out, and was again denied. With Gods help and a lot of hard work, I am back on top and current for 10 months, but now they are assessing me for fees and charges applied after I brought the account current. They will not work with me, nor will they define the charges or show me where it says in the contract that I am responsible for them whatever they are.in the extreme, they could call them anything, charge them anytime, for any amount, and I am required to pay them. I'm not doing it, period. I followed their advise, and I'm screwed

Durring the process, I was offered a temporary plan, for 6 months at a reduced rate. But when I asked about the specifics of the plan and where I would be after 6 months, I was told I would then be 6 months behind and still have to make up the difference. Since I was currently only 2 months behind, I opted out of that plan.

After 4 attempts to qualify for assistance and allowing my mortgage to lapse and remain behind so I would qualify for assistance, Im screwed. My credit rating does not allow me to refinance with anyone and I was denied 4 times by citimortgage.

Credibility, the company who was supposed to be monitoring the process for me, and ensuring I was qualified to apply, did nothing. They said I was absolutely qualified for each of the modification plans I applied for and yet I was denied immediately for each of them. 1) said I had inadequate income, (no kidding), 2) said I did not qualify for the program, 3) said I had not returned the paperwork on time, Credibility had the responsibility to file my paperwork and they had it in plenty of time to do so. They never informed me anything was amiss when I called just a week before I got the denial letter.

The 4) denial stated excessive forbearance. Funny how a little help from God in the form of a new customer who pays his bills and a lot of hard work and belt tightening on my part, Ive been current for 10 months now, caught up all arrearages and with no help from citimortgage, and actually in spite of all

They did to ruin me. Now theyre insisting I pay for 8 months of inspections, late fees, servicing fees, all assessed after I sent them what was supposed to be a total of what I owed to bring my account current. Enough is enough. Ive been hearing rumors that Credibility was employed by citimortgage and got something like $1500.00 each time they qualified a customer for a modification program. Well they got paid 4 times for me, ruined my credit following their advice and citis to keep my mortgage late throughout the process. Is that where all the assistance money is going? Now they want more money for inspections I knew nothing about, did not agree to, nor was informed of the cost, servicing fees they wont explain, late fees that appeared after I was caught up. All fees resulting from their advice to remain behind in my payments while the process of modification was being done. Im not paying them 1 penny more.

I believe there was no substantiation for my denial (s) and my current status is proof of that. My credit is a mess because of them, and I still owe more than my home is worth because of their over evaluation of its worth to begin with. 6 years ago my home was valued at 220k, now as a result of people all over the area walking away, its worth 116k and my mortgage is 138k. I found out I have a Freddie mac loan, but no one can find it. The servicer is Citimortgage.

Sorry for the rant like format, but I think I have a pretty good reason for being agitated.

Please advise what can be done, if I can participate going after CitiMortgage, or how I can help others in any way.
