Sears, Citibank I also had problems with Sears / Citibank

Last year we purchased a washer/dryer from sears on a new sears account. We never received a statement, but it was a 12 mo. No int. No payment plan so didn't think about it much.in January we tried to find our account number to make payments before the promo was up and got the run around.

Every time we called it got harder and harder to get anything accomplished and couldn't even get our account number. They said they would send a statement and we never got it. It appears as though our address tied to the account was an old address. No wonder why we never got statements before. When we made the purchase, we were already at our address for about 3 years and the washer dryer was sent to this address!

They said security would call to confirm it was really us. They never called.

We were told our balance was about $700 more than our original purchase because of late fees. We should have never received late fees because of our promo.
Finally, still trying to find a way to just pay off our card, we were told it had been sold to a collections agency in MARCH - two months and several hours of phone calls after we had been trying to take care of the issue.

I feel like they sold our account right when they figured out our correct address and before we could correctly call them on their errors. Now that it is in the hands of a collections company they won't talk to us. I don't know what kind of recourse we have regarding the unfair late fees.

We are more than happy to pay off our washer / dryer. After all, our receipt says no int, no payment for 12 months. April is the end of that period.
