Official Letters Demanded $125 to Keep Our Business Name

I have received 2 official letters from them stating that I need to pay $125 to keep our business name. I even wrote out the check, then questioned the odd name of the company. It is even in Tallahassee. I then realized I had also received one from Sunbiz, which was the legitimate fictitious name renewal through the Secretary of State for only $50. How are they allowed to legally send this document like they are part of the government? (In very small print on a very busy page, they state they are not affiliated with the state.) Why haven't they been shut down?
