California Business Renewal Center
Mail SCAM via official looking lette

Shops, Products, Services

I received an official looking letter from a company calling themselves California Business Renewal Center (same letter as another report on this site). They want $175.00 to file a Statement of Information with the Secretary of State regarding our recently formed LLC.

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing they got our info from the Statement of Information we already filed with the Secretary of State; they even had our correct California LLC number.

They quote "California Corporations Code" and "Revenue and Taxation Code". Of course, nowhere on the document is there a phone number for this "company".in small letters they state that this "service" is not approved, endorsed or being offered by any government agency and you're not obligated to pay unless you accept their "offer".

Don't fall for this scam. If it smells funny, don't bite!
