Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center
A business letter is sent indicating the renewal fee for your FBN, however, in very small print it is noted that this is a solicitation!

Shops, Products, Services

Today I received an official looking document that says my fictitious business name is expiring. It has all of the proper jargon and in bold letters it states Return no later than 5/26. It goes on to discuss how you need to be in compliance with code B&P 17910 so you get the distinct impression this is on the level. However, when you get to the bottom, they are charging $125 to renew and in small print it says, complete this form now, don't let your fbn expire and then goes on to say this is a solicitation! I actually thought this was real and was looking it up online when I found others who had received a letter as well.

This is horrible and should be stopped. No telling how many folks might be paying these outrageous prices to renew and who knows where the money goes. Beware, read and do your homework before you send anyone any money!
