Unauthorized 700 Dollar Online Charge Sided With Merchant

My card was charged over $700 for an online purchase that I did not authorize. Amex is taking the side of the merchant (which is an internet scam website by the way). I've been a loyal customer for many years, never late with payment and this is the treatment that I get. Will never use the card again. Switching completely to Visa.
