Mascara Caused Swollen Eyelids Requiring Hospital Eye Drops

I bought some Dior mascara for occasional use, recommended by a friend in Aug, few wks later I got a reaction in which my lids became swollen and sore and I had to go the hospital to get some steroid eye drops. I have never had a problem with makeup before and thinking it was something else I started using the mascara again and this time I got a reaction within 24hrs of use. I am an optometrist and know what can cause reactions to the eyes, and was very surprised with what happened esp when there was no warning sign on the packaging.
