Debit Card Refund Delay and Store Credit Offered on Return

I purchased 2 bras online with my debit card on 01/16. When I received them, they did not look like the advertisement, so I took them back to the Reno, Nevada store, number 809. I asked for my cash back and explained that the money was taken from my available balance the same day I ordered. The customer service rep advised me there were 2 options: back on the card, which he could not tell me how long it would take, or a store credit. My question was how long that would take, and he said he did not know. I explained again that I ordered online; if there was something else I wanted, I would have ordered it. Bottom line for me, I will never order through their website again. This was my first and only time. I never had such a bad experience returning a product. Isn't a debit card the same as cash???
