Kohl's cash denied

I visited a Kohl's store during their promotional "Kohl's cash" in January. The cashier informed me that I could combine bills (totalling $50 or more) in order to receive Kohl's cash as long as purchases were made during the promotional period.

I went back to make another purchase towards the end of the promotional period (still eligible). However, I forgot to bring my receipts and hence could not avail of the voucher. The cashier reassured me that I could just bring all the receipts back and collect my voucher from customer service.

A days later (4-5 days after the promotion ended), I presented my receipts at customer service. The two service agents informed me that they could not provide me with the voucher as the promotion had ended. They refused to help despite my mentioning that the cashier had asked me to return with my receipts. Their response was that the cashier probably "assumed I was coming back right away".

I urge Kohl's to train their employees better so that they can advice customers correctly. Very few people will want to waste their time and money on poor service. Please don't make assumptions and try to honor reasonable customer requests!
