Charter Communications
Double penalty for cancelling service

TV & Radio

I have been a Constitution "pack" client for nearly 3 years and signed up for the present 2-year "cost promise" contract in 3. I have been spending $145/mo. For telephone, web and Cable Television. After I registered in 3/10, the telephone broker educated me that termination of providers just before 3/12 might create a "firing charge" that might be prorated along for each month support was preserved.

I decided last month to change towards the AT&T support bundle because of their $89/mo first-year pricing, a reduction in Television and film development accessibility with Constitution and numerous web connection issues. I registered with AT&T but didn't plan installation until 12/07. I named Constitution to ask about the "firing charge" and was informed that it'd be $25. Used to do not inform Constitution that I Would chose to change but only that I was considering doing this.

I received my Constitution statement recently and was unpleasantly shocked to determine that it had been $250, not $145 for that month. I named Constitution customer support and was educated by Koy, broker D5T, that I had been being billed "complete normal cost" for my providers since I'd been "started out" of the pack plan. She stated that AT&T had approached Constitution to tell them they could be "overtaking" my telephone number. I requested Koy why, at no stage, was one more financial fee for ending Constitution support actually described and he or she had no solution.

I expected to talk to Koy's boss and proceeded to hold back on-hold for over twenty minutes. (Koy did check back many times to inform me that she was awaiting a boss to become available.) While Koy ultimately returned about the point, she mentioned, "I'm today likely to link one to Mr. (inaudible)", where moment I had been quickly disconnected.

I called Constitution back and talked having an adviser called Luke. He described that I'd been "started out" of the pack pricing bundle when AT&T "exposed the job order" and recommended the only method to possess the statement decreased from $250 to $145 is always to "have AT&T stop the order." Lenny likewise advised me that I'd furthermore be charged for that "termination fee."

The particular text of Constitutionis firing of providers plan can be obtained on the site under "Conditions of Contract." I think it is reprehensible they are trying to gouge me and therefore are, essentially, getting me for lacking all three (bundled) services throughout a month that I actually do, actually, have all three providers. That is disingenuous and shady.

Just Before this horrible insufficient company ethics, I'd undoubtedly have deemed returning to Constitution if my AT&T support demonstrates significantly less than acceptable. I've modified that thought and wouldn't conduct business with this specific organization later on.

I'm giving this criticism towards the BBB and also the Attorneygeneral of Their State of Iowa, in addition to publishing on as numerous online boards as you can. Customers avoid Charter Communications!
