I've been a customer of DIRECTV for 10 months under a 24 month contract. The original installer ensured my other cable drops were active should I want to add another receiver. Called today about adding another receiver to my existing account only to be told it would require an installation fee of $50. I explained that installation wasn't needed and I didn't want to pay for that plus the $99 one time fee for the receiver and $6/mo recurring charge. I asked to speak to a supervisor becasue that couldn't be right. After 30 minutes on hold (never talked to mgmt) it was relayed that they would forgo the installation charge but an installer would still need to come out. Ok no problem but then was told I would be locked in for an additional 24 month service commitment. NOW THAT"S CRAZY! So when my contract is up I'm waving good buy to DIRECTV. The do not appreciate my business.
