I can see I am not the only one ticked off by Bright House 's constantly rising rates. The fact that I have been a loyal customer for 20 plus years means nothing. They would much rather have 'New Customers' and subsidize their lower rates by using my checkbook.

A month or so ago. I called to complain about the latest price increase (that $3.50 modem charge for example) and was told that If I dropped my HDTV service (by switching to a satellite ciompny or Verizon's FIOS) the cost of phone and internet would be 'around' $50. What they quoted was the NEW CUSTOMER RATE! After double checking before I made the switch, I learned that EACH service would cost that much and I couldn't get the new customer pricing.

I am sick of companies that overcharge old customers and force them to pay higher rates to they can get new customers. It is time it stopped!

If we all cancelled our existing accounts... The marketing gurus may see that enraging existing customers is a lot more expensive than mining for new ones. Maybe it is time for a consumer revolution against ALL companies that cut new customers a break and over charge existing one. (Tampa Times... Are you listening?)
