Refund medical emergency - flight booking

I was scheduled to fly on 8/23 when I had a medical emergency in the Boarding Area. I went to the emergency room. (The customer service person at DELTA said they would cancel my flight and I could get a refund for my tickets.)

I have been trying through Orbitz to get a refund. The cost was a lot, $1,0088. I never flew at all. The plane was full when it left the airport. A woman took my seat.

I have been trying to get a refund. I faxed medical records with EKG data and doctors statements just so I can get my money refunded. I cannot fly. I have a heart condition.

What can I do to get my money back?

I can't believe why I wouldnt be eligible for a refund due to a medical emergency.
The airport personnel documented my wheelchair help and emergency exit.
Can anyone help me?
