Travelocity price change in 30 seconds

I was helping someone get a flight and found a flight at a price around 346.00. We called Travelocity and the person who lives in another country and was difficult to understand, took our information. He then quoted us a price of over 1400.00! I said that this was not the price on the web site. He instructed me to refresh my screen and the price changed from $346 to over 1400.00. How can a price change of 1100.00 happen in 30 seconds. I will NEVER deal with Travelocity again and I will encourage others to use the airlines directly. We contacted Delta (thank you very much Delta Airlines!) and they gave us the tickets at the original cost.
