Com ripoff Misleading and dishonest reservation policy

I booked a flight with Travelocity.com a few minutes before midnight, by the time the booking process was complete it was 2 minutes after midnight. I received a confirmation code and trip ID # on my itinerary, I thought everything was set. The next morning (11 1/2 hours later) my wife received a call from Travelocity telling her since I completed the reservation process 2 minutes after midnight they could not honor the price given the night before and they were going to cancel my reservation and I would have to make another reservation costing me $211.00 more for the same ticket.

I was not about to pay $211.00 more for the same flight so that meant I would have to change my rental car and hotel reservations. I tried to call Travelocity and was kept on hold for over 20 minutes. I hung up and called the airline the flight was booked with and told them the story. The airline told me the reservation was still there and they would try to contact Travelocity and reason with them. After 35 minutes they still could not get ahold of Travelocity, the airline told me I should call Travelocity and tell them they have to honor the price they quoted since I was never informed the price was only available for a certin time period.

The airline then told me while I was on the phone with them Travelocity canceled the reservation. After talking to a few supervisors the airline representative told me the airline would honor the price Travelocity quoted me (thank god for Northwest Airlines). I tried to call Travelocity's "CUSTOMER CARE CENTER" again and was kept on hold for over 25 minutes, I emailed them with a complaint but I have not yet gotten a response.
