My family was booked for an Orlando vacation, our flight was due to take off the day hurricane Irene was expected to hit the NY area. Continental cancelled my flight late Friday night, and I started calling Expedia to cancel the trip. I was on hold 3 separate times for 40 minutes, each time! I tried again Saturday, holding for 1-2 hours before having to disconnect. I called the airline, hotel and car rental myself, and they all said I would receive a refund, but Expedia had to call them to process the refunds. I finally got ahold of someone Sunday night at 11 pm, after holding for nearly 2 hours. The customer service agent was helpful and got the flight and car refunded. I was then told I had to call back the following day to cancel the hotel as it was nearly 1 am and the clerk at the hotel needed a manager to authorize the refund. I asked if they could call me back as I had been on hold for about 8 hours thus far. They said no, they didn't do that. So I started calling early Monday and after an hour and 45 min got a human who processed the refund. It has still not been refunded to my credit card, a week later. I intend on rebooking my vacation myself. Without any help from Expedia
