I tried to book a room in Palm Springs this past weekend using Expedia. I tried 2 times and was told Expedia couldn't process at this time and to try again in a few minutes. I went ahead and booked the same reservation with their Hotel.com. Hotel.com said I would be recieving an email confirming the reservation. I checked my email and there are three reservations confirmed. Two from Expedia and one from their Hotel.com. After at least an hour on hold and explaining the situation to one of the agents, a supervisor told me they could only verify the internet problem with my first attempt to make reservations and they would be charging me the full amount plus the Hotel.com for the same exact reservation. After contacting the hotel and another 30 minutes on hold with Expedia, I was finally given promises of a cancellation on the second attempt. VERY poor customer service, charge a customer twice for the same exact reservation??? I will not be using Expedia again, EVER.
