I booked a 5 day, 4 night cruise with Royal Caribbean leaving Miami on March 15th. Because I wanted to have better accomadations, I booked a Grand Suite with a balcony.
There were only 4 suites on the whole ship rated better than the one I booked. The very first night we sailed, Monday, March 15th. The noise level in our suite was unbearable. The loud banging and crashing noises went on until 1:30am and started again at 6:00am.
I immediately tried to report this to the cruise director Dawn.
The customer service center on the ship took a very detailed report and gave it to her and told me I would her from her right away. Well the noise continued for all 4 nights, I gave 3 detailed reports to customer service with the promise every time she get a hold of me. I never heard a thing. Finally on the last night, I spoke to a gentlemen by the name of Allen. He assured me that Dawn would be there at 7:00pm on my last night so I could speak with her, guess what? She told Allen to have me call customer service next week. She wouldn't even talk to me herself. I called customer service on Tuesday March 23rd.
They had me on hold for 16 minutes and told me the suite I booked, no. 1034 was under the Wind Jammer Cafe and that they receive a number of complaints about the noise. Now you know why the Cruise Director completely ignored my complaints. The customer service person I spoke with on March 23rd., offered me a Coupon
worth $150.00 per person for 2 adults. But, I had to take another cruise with them to use the coupons. I can not imagine being treated that poorly after booking what was suppose to be one of the best ships, Majesty of the Seas. I would be very concerned even bookoing with Royal Caribbean.
