Cancellation Policy & Misleading

Under confirmation number 3432979061 my wife made reservations for one night only 5/14 at the Hilton Inn / Riverwalk in Wilmington N.C. The one night rate was $176.00. On Friday 5/13 my wife got sick and called the hotel to cancel our reservation and re-book it for another date, 5/29. She was told she could not cancel but she could ask Hilton direct for a favor.

I called on their 1-800-236-7113 number and was told by Amy J. That she would contact her manager to get this accomplished. I relayed my cell phone number and she never called back. Then I called, spoke to someone else who knew Amy but could not transfer me to her but would relay my phone number and message. As I write it is 5:30 pm on 5/13, our reservation was for tomorrow and I was lied to by Amy and no one has called me back. $176.00 is alot of money for one nights stay, my wife unexpectantly got sick and all we wanted to do was CHANGE our reservation to 5/29 and not cancel it. I have stayed at many Hiltons before on business trips and it is not fair that I can not get an answer?
