Cheapo Misinformation cost me $500

Traveling & Tourism

After utilizing CheapOair to secure travel arrangements in June I was forced to cancel my flight due to illness.

Calling CheapOair on or around June 3 to reinstate my travel plans I spoke with a customer service rep. We spoke for about 10 or 15 minutes detailing an itinerary. I found the trip was more expensive than I had planned and that I had wanted to use that money for hotel accommodations.

I asked the rep if I had to use the ticket before 6/10/08 or just book my new flight by then. I was told the later, I repeated it to be sure. We discussed the fact that it is cheaper to book flights in advance for the best price. At that time I said I would call back with a scheduled itinerary for a later date in the year.

When I called on June 10 I was told the opposite, I had to have used my ticket before this. I told the rep what I had been informed the week before. I was then told that I had to have called before 9 pm EST. I told the rep that I had called customer service for two hours straight and no one answered.

I was told to call the Airline company, CheapoAir couldn't do anything as the ticket was canceled.
