Travelocity
Would not refund my money Ripoff

Traveling & Tourism

Myself and three other travel companions had reserved a trip through travelocity. This trip was a Christmas present for my mother from all three of her daughters. I researched travelocity for a decent, inexpensive hotel because after our flight, ect this trip would be quite expensive. We had booked four airline tickets and two rooms in from Cleveland to New York City, staying at the Hotel Da Vinci during our stay.

We arrived at Hotel Da Vinci in New York on Friday, March 30th. This hotel was horrendous! The rooms were so smelly and filthy that we did not even unpack our suitcases. Each room (s) bathroom did not have lights or electricity. We called the front desk and they told us they would re-set the breaker but people in the building use space heaters because the regular heat does not work properly and the electricity would probably go out again when the breaker blew.

We immediately called Travelocity at this point. The representative at travelocity told us to contact another hotel and they would get us re-imbursed from Da Vinci for our two rooms which totaled $1003.00 of our trip. We called around and booked another hotel, The Westin. We were in the process of walking out of the filthy, smelly rooms at the Da Vinci and travelocity called us back and told us Da Vinci wouldn't give us a refund. We then argued with the front desk at Da Vinci to no avail.

We spent the rest of our trip at the Westin with no problems.

I got back home and decided to contact Travelocity to get my $1003.00 back. My first e-mail to them was on April 9th. They took forever to respond to me each time, and finally on August 9th they responded to me that they decided to give me a $50 travel voucher to resolve things.

I told them that was not even acceptable to me and have not heard from them since. Even a two star hotel is supposed to provide electricy and cleanliness, so I hope in contacting rip off reports I can get my $1003 back. My sisters and I are not asking for any money for ruining our whole first night or for more money even though the Westin was $100 more per room, per night. We just want what we deserve which is credit for not staying at the Hotel Da Vinci because of our problem.
