Spirit Airlines
Frustrated, angered, irritated, ft lauderdale florida

Traveling & Tourism

Right now my head is swimming from the frustration i feel re spirit airlines. It is a long story that will have to be told in parts. Being this angry makes it difficult to remember what order everything happened because my head is racing ahead of my hands.

It began on Oct. 13. I purchased plane tickets from spirt. Non-refundable. They were purchased on line. I had some questions re procedure, so i called the airline. My husband, who was in a wheelchair at the time due to a fall, was going to be dropped at curbside (my question to the airline) while i parked the car. I was told we could do curb-side.

We left home more than 2 hours before our flight for the 20minute ride to the airport. There was a 3 lane accident on the highway. It delayed us. I dropped my husband at curbside. When i came back to the drop off point, he was gone. I grabbed an employee from spirit and asked where he could be. They did not know. I ran around for a few minutes until I found him inside the terminal. He told me an employee wheeled him in, but was immediately told that we would already too late for the 11:00 a. M flight.

When i got there, i was told their were no more flights that day. The next day flight was an additional $300. Plus $50pp fee. Two other couples going to 2 different destinations also missed their planes (also for a charge of $300.)

I was told i would be given a voucher for the $318. Fare. I decided to dispute this with my credit card company. During the month of deliberation by the credit card company, I decided I would fly again and use the voucher. Also the credit card co. Said they saw no reason for me to win the battle.

Long story short, i used the voucher on line this evening. Dec. 1. The voucher should have been in the amount of $318. Why am i so sure? I had to fax a form to the airline saying i would not dispute the charge. I did not see the line that asked for the amt. The airline made an issue of this by refusing to give me the voucher until i faxed the form with all information including the voucher amount. I asked them to fill in this amount and I was told they could not. After I paid on line with the voucher, i noticed the voucher amt. Was incorrect. I received a voucher for $304. I'm trying to get an explanation of why.

When i get all my thoughts together and I'm not so angry, i will fill you in and more. One other thing, my son called the airline to get me some consideration for the lost $318. And was told because i was so angry and frustrated and raised my voice (did i say how many times they hung up on me. Mike, senora, emily, etc. No last names allowed)

Did i also say that when i was issued the voucher and tried to use it, my computer said the voucher had expired. It was issued a few minutes before.!!!

There are many more discrepencies, but i am very tired from my ordeal. I had taken my sick granddaughter out with me to get to a fax machine because they needed me to sign a statement saying i would not dispute the $318. (missed Plane) I wrote on the bottom of the form that i was signing under protest. Protesting the fact that we lost time when my husband was brought into the terminal by an employee. Doesn't the airling bare some of the resposibility.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
