Duped - Hotel room reservation

I made a reservation through roomstays.com. Only after I made the reservation and received the confirmation did I read that it is NON-REFUNDABLE. So when I tried to modify the reservation through the hotel system by reducing the number of days of the stay was I told that there was a problem because the reservation was made through a booking agent (roomstay), which charged my credit card $9.95! AND the cost of the 4-night stay. Only when I received the confirmation did I find out about the $9.95 charge to roomstay and that it was non-refundable. It is a scam.
