Change in reservation - Expedia Hotel cancellation policy

Booked motel through Expedia for trip we are taking in 6 months. Was told at time of making this reservation that changes or cancellations could be made up to 2 days before arrival without any charge. Several days later, wanted to change from a king size bed to 2 queen size beds in one of the rooms. Called and talked with a lady who said there would be a $115 charge to do that. Explained to her and then to her supervisor that there is no charge for this and both replied that it was the Holiday Inn charging and not them. Called Holiday Inn (corporation) and they said that Expedia is lying and it is them and they have had several of these complaints. Will NEVER use them again!
