I was billed for service i never received

I too signed up for "The Neighborhood Built by MCI" and after three weeks of hell I gave up. I was unable to access voicemail, sporadically had local service and had NO long distance. The promise made to me however was that I would get all that and more for the same $49.99/mo. To add to the problem, I moved.

When I called to set up the move I was told that it would be "no problem." I was told that service would be available the day I moved in. After three days at my new apartment, I still did not have service... So called back. I was told that there must be a problem with the line and that they would send out a repair person to correct the problem the next day. I waited and waited, and no repair person ever came to my home. After calling daily and getting the run-around daily, I finally screamed at the person reading the cue card to stop and connect me with someone who could really answer my question, and fix my problem.

After an hour of explaining the issue with six different "supervisors" I was told two things. First, that the service would now take up to three weeks to connect and that I would be charged $70 for the transfer. Then upon tranfer to another supervisor... I was told that service could not be connected at all for the new area. My new address is five blocks from the previous. Did I mention that during all this the new tenant in my old apartment had complete use of my telephone #? When all was said and done I ended up disconnecting my service, losing the telephone number i had had for years and going with a different company.

As a final insult, I was billed for the three weeks that my phone was used by the person in my old place, and for the "service call" by the person who never showed. Needless to say... They will not be getting a dime from me... Or I hope from you.
