Hidden Equipment Costs and Football Package on Free Offer

I called for information on Direct TV, I asked if I would get On Demand with this service. "Yes, not a problem." I asked about the advertised package with the 3 months of free service. "Yes, sign up now and get 3 months free service." I asked what this included. "All of the base premium channels."

I was also advised the installation would be free.

What I was not told was that in order to get On Demand, I would have to purchase an RF Module and a router ($75.00 for the two pieces) and have them installed. I was not advised that I would have to have a fast DSL internet connection, either. I was not advised that in order to get the free 3 months of service, I would have to pay for a football package that I did not want!

When I received the bill for the football package that I did not want, I was advised that I had to keep it or lose the free service. I also questioned why I was not able to use the On Demand service, and this is when I was advised that I would have to purchase the RF Module and the router. (Fine time to tell me now!) Also notice below what I copied directly from their webpage, "No equipment to buy or startup costs".
