Promised lower rates but rates nearly doubled

Buyer beware. Stay away from this company! Learn from my experience and keep Verizon.

Southern California Telephone solicited my business, promising lower rates, and then added $11.91 in taxes and surcharges that were never charged to me by Verizon. My bill went from $27.69 to $29.39 which was OK. I knew the rate would be slightly higher because I added call blocking. But when they added those taxes and surcharges, it caused an overall increase from Verizon's $27.69 to a whopping $41.30 a month. And now there's a 10 minute limit on local calls with 6 cents a minute to be charged for each minute beyond 10 minutes. Verizon did not charge me for my local calls.
