What is this company thinking? I would not have long distance on my home phone because they couldn't give me anything better than. 17 and. 24 cents a minute for out of state calling rates, peak/off peak. It was. 44 cents in state. When I called about another problem with the company, a girl sold me on a long distance plan. She very clearly said i would get a. 05 cents out of state rate per minute, and a. 07 cents in state rate, at all times. As ridiculous as it is to be charged more to call somewhere closer, I agreed to the plan.
I've received two bills since then where I am being charged insane amounts to call within forty miles of here. I called Verizon and they claimed there was a computer glitch, I should've been charged the seven cents. They said they would take it off. I paid the adjusted bill. This month the charge they 'took off' showed back up as a balance forward, and they charged almost half a dollar a minute to call thirty miles up the road. I called them up, and got the same story. They'll take it off. I highly doubt it will stay off.
I don't need them, and they are going to run themselves out of business. I'm taking my landline and internet business elsewhere. I'm going to get my internet at the same price it is now, and my phone line is going to be a flat forty something. And they don't nickel and dime for the long distance, or features.

If I wanted unlimited long distance from verizon, it would cost $80 something a month, plus basic, plus features, plus all other sorts of made up fees. Verizon had better get with it if they want to stay in business.
My new services will be installed the day my phone bill is due. Let's see when and how much I choose to pay those shysters. I don't need them anymore, so to hell with them.
