Charges invalid late fees

I have rented 3 movies on 2/19/04, I returned them on 2/21/04 before I went to work, which was 7:18 am. Since then I rented 2 movies on 3/2/04 and no mention was made of any late charges.
When I rented movies last night, 3/19/04, suddenly I had $12.00 in late charges!!! I told my wife about this, and she said this happened to her before but they removed, when my wife had proof that she returned the movies on time. This company will do whatever they can to make a profit, even rip you off!!!
