Nearly two years paid and they still want the TV

Okay, here is my story. I went in to rent to own a TV for my husband's birthday. I had never done this before, but I had just started a new job and did not have enough cash to buy. I believed everything I see on TV, about 12 months and so on. I paid on the TV every month, about 113.00 a month, up until February. I lost my job in January 2011, like most people out here.

I signed my agreement in March and made a payment at the time, and I was told I would get two weeks free, which they did not give me. Two weeks later they started calling. After I explained about the two weeks free, which they had told me about, they waited another two weeks and called me on April 2nd, 2008. My paydays were mostly every two weeks, and some months I may not get paid until the 4th or 5th. You better believe that every 2nd of the month I got a call, and if I missed the call they would immediately call my references and also my job.

After I gave them a piece of my mind, two of my references actually had to have their numbers changed, and they stopped calling my job. Like I said, I lost my job in January and made my last payment in February. I was turned down for unemployment (that is another story), so I am still without a job.

These folks at Aaron's do not call me anymore. They just show up at my house. The first time, I met one in the driveway while he was having a conversation with my 13-year-old son, and yes, I gave him an earful and immediately told him to get off my property. After that, they would just show up throughout the day. I am usually out job hunting, so I get the tag they leave. I have called and spoken to the store manager several times and explained that I will make the final buyout payment of 300.00 as soon as I get some extra cash.

I understand I owe the payment and I am willing to pay, but I refuse to give back a TV that I have paid on for almost 2 years, no matter what any employee, supervisor or anyone else says. How dare you have the audacity to expect people to pay on something for so long and then demand it back so you can resell it to someone else when they have 3 payments left. Show up at my house if you dare. You can knock, but be careful, there is a little law in Texas called trespassing and the right to bear arms. That is not a threat, it is a promise. If you do not get the results the first, second, or third time, take me to court. Yes, I know my rights. They do not want to go to court for a mere 300.00 plus court costs because it is easier to just harass innocent, hard working people who are just dealing with life.
