Billed double after service terminated, no human to reach

When I signed up for the MetroPCS service, I knew that it was very similar, if not the same thing, as prepaid phone service. During registration I asked the rep how the billing cycle worked.

I was told that the cycle was thirty days and that near the end of the thirty days I would get a text message with my bill amount and due date. I was also told that if the bill was not paid by midnight on the due date that the service would be terminated. I was also told that there was no reconnection fee and that if after the service was terminated I decided to reactivate my phone I could, and that thirty days after reactivation I would receive another bill and so on and so forth.

While I had the phone there were numerous dropped calls. I paid extra for text messaging that I could not use for almost two weeks, and I also missed numerous calls, while the phone was on and in ring mode! I decided not to continue my service and let the phone get turned off on the due date.

Three weeks later I received another bill that was twice the amount of the original bill. What happened to not being billed for service not received? Their customer service number that can be reached via the cell phone is totally automated, so I cannot reach anyone to find out where these charges came from... Can anyone help me get through to a human at MetroPCS???
