Ripoff Disconnect Fees

I had an account with ADT Security for the last three years. I paid them religiously approximately $50 per month ($1800). When financial hardship caused me to close my store, I called ADT to cancel my contract, they told me that my disconnect fee is $900.00. I told them that $900 is ridiculous and asked how other people react to the disconnect fee. She said that they all react about like I did and that it's in the contract. Don't sign anything with ADT. I have paid them a TON of money and as I'm trying to pick up the pieces from a failed business, they are trying to extort $900 from me. BAD PR move ADT.
