Banfield put wrong kind of stitches in my pet causing infection and surgical removal. Now they send the cancelled account to collections! Beware go to a real vet

My Shih-tzu was spayed, simple enough, not here. The employees instructed us that her stitches would fall out by themselves. 2 months later, on a check-up, the tech saw the stitches had not fallen out and the area was infected. I went straight to a REAL VET and paid for surgical removal of stitches and antibiotics. The stitches were removed, all but 1, it was through a blood vessel and the vet said best to leave it. I was informed that this type of stitch needed to be removed within 2 weeks of application. I soon after cancelled the Banfield wellness plan. A couple of months later I took my baby to get shots at the vet. Banfield then forced me to reinstate this PUPPY SICKNESS plan just to send over the previous shot records. About 6 months ago I called in, spoke to a representative, explained the situation, and she told me the wellness plan would be cancelled. Today I get a letter from a collection agency for the whole year's payments of $245.00, also threatening my credit report. I contacted the collectors and explained the situation to them. They asked how I cancelled and I told them by phone. They responded that I should read my contract, and that termination of contract required a 30 day written notice. My plan was purchased by telephone, where is my contract. I informed the collectors of my intent to never pay these erroneous charges, and to let their client know that when the agency files to my credit report I will be sueing Banfield for all of my costs and lots of pain. My little dog still has sickness from the early infections that Banfield caused. Do not let banfield hurt your dog or your credit!!! All about the money not the pets!!!
