Cancelled Plan Due to Unemployed

I started the plan for my pets in 6/14/08. Called to cancel on 1/7 was on hold for 45 minutes to cancel spoke to a very rude person by the name Chantelle she was not giving me the option to cancel I explained I had been laid of over a year and no longer could afford the plan started paying 39.90 a month but ended up paying 63.90 for a while before I cancelled. I immediately called my bank to cancel the automatic payment somehow Banfield managed to pull funds out of my acct I changed acct #'s 2 or 3 times bank worked with me because they had no luck contacting Banfield. They continued to call me and harrase me and telling me I needed to be educated on how to cancel my plan. I contacted BBB and they sent me a response that they have not been able to get Banfield to respond. I paid 336.26 to start the contract and have made payments to them loyally since then up untill January, I have only taken my pets in 3 times for shots the amount I have paid them is ridiculous just for shots and now I have received a letter from a collection agency. How much can companys like that get away with?
